About
Equipping the Abled
Equipping the Abled was created to walk alongside families who are caring for a loved one with disabilities. We believe every person has God-given worth and purpose, and that truth shapes everything we do. Our mission is to give caregivers the tools, confidence, and encouragement they need to plan for the future with faith and hope.
Through workshops, resources, and one-on-one guidance, we help families navigate areas like government benefits, daily living, guardianship, medical care, financial planning, and family support. Just as importantly, we offer encouragement rooted in God’s promises—reminding weary caregivers that they are not alone.
Equipping the Abled isn’t only about answering questions; it’s about building relationships, strengthening communities, and pointing families back to the hope we find in Christ.
For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.
— Ephesians 2:10
About Brian Black
As the father of an adult son with disabilities, Brian Black has lived this journey personally. His role as a parent, caregiver, and advocate has shaped his calling to guide other families who face the same questions, fears, and hopes.
Brian knows that planning for the future of a loved one can feel overwhelming. That’s why his approach is more than professional guidance—it’s encouragement rooted in faith, offered by someone who truly understands.
Brian holds the designation of Chartered Special Needs Consultant (ChSNC®) from The American College of Financial Services, equipping him to help families plan for the unique financial and life needs of individuals with disabilities.
Outside of his work, Brian treasures time with his three children—Braden, Caden, and Aubrey. He enjoys staying active, traveling with family to the mountains of Colorado, and finding joy in the reminders of God’s faithfulness throughout everyday life.
Brian’s story is more than his own—it’s an invitation for families to walk with courage, prepare with wisdom, and trust God’s design for their loved one’s future.
